Multi Investigator Seed Grant - Now Accepting Applications
The Office of Academic Integration, sponsored jointly by Weill Cornell Medicine and Cornell University, is pleased to announce a Request for Applications (RFA), seeking proposals for the 2019-2020 Multi-Investigator Seed Grant. During the first two years of this program, the Office of Academic Integration has awarded over $1 million in collaborative awards to faculty interested in building intercampus programs aimed at achieving extramural support. Based on the success and overwhelming response, we are re-issuing the call for applications to further catalyze collaborative research opportunities among Cornell faculty based in Ithaca and New York City, with a particular eye towards building trans-disciplinary, multi-investigator programs that will be competitive for external support from the NIH, NSF, DOD, other federal funders, and major foundations. The Multi-Investigator Seed Grant is open to investigators from any field of study.
Applications are being solicited for two tracks:
- Track 1: $100,000
- Groups of at least four faculty aiming to submit large proposals, for example Center Grants or Multidisciplinary University Research Initiatives (MURI) within 2 years.
- Track 2: $75,000
- Groups of at least two faculty aiming to submit collaborative grants (for example standard NSF, NIH multi-PI R01 or DOD CDMRP- or similar) within one year of receiving pilot grant funding.
The Multi-Investigator Seed Grant and application portal are now available on the Academic Integration website. The deadline for submissions is December 13, 2019.
